Bot practice gives you a place to learn the flow of a Spades hand. Open the Spades lobby, sign in and choose Play vs AI. You still need an internet connection and should check the mode’s virtual coin entry amount before starting.

Use Your First Match to Learn the Turn Order

Each player receives 13 cards and makes a bid. During play you must follow the led suit when you can. If you cannot, a spade can trump a side suit. Watch which cards the interface allows, and compare each trick’s winner with the rule you expected.

Practice One Skill at a Time

For bidding practice, count your likely winners before submitting a bid. At the end of the hand, compare the estimate with the tricks you actually took. Aces can be trumped when another player is void, and unsupported kings may lose to an ace.

For bag control, track the team contract and the number of tricks already won. Extra tricks add points initially but accumulate toward a penalty. Try preserving low cards that let you avoid a trick once the team has enough.

Moving from Bots to People

Bots help with rules and repetition, but they do not represent every human bidding style. In online games, watch your partner’s choices and avoid assuming the same behavior you saw in practice. Use the rules and scoring guides to settle uncertainty about a result.
