A regular partner makes Spades a different experience: your bids become easier to read and you learn when to cover each other. Use the friends room in the Spades lobby to arrange a game together. Each participant needs an account and an internet connection.

Arrange the Room

Sign in and open Play with Friends. Create a room or join an available room, then use the invitation controls to bring your friends in. Check the seating before marking yourself ready: partners sit opposite each other. The host starts the next step once the room is ready.

Follow the room status for any remaining seats and matchmaking. Do not assume an invitation alone starts a match or that missing seats are always filled by bots. Check the coin entry amount before starting.

Play as a Partnership

Your bids combine into a team contract. If one partner bids four and the other bids three, the partnership needs at least seven tricks. Winning an unnecessary trick over your partner can waste a high card that would have won a later trick.

If your partner bids nil, covering their vulnerable cards becomes a priority. You can discuss rules before the match, but avoid sharing hidden cards or arranging signals during competitive play.

Prepare Before Everyone Joins

Agree on a time and make sure everyone can sign in before creating the room. For a new player, a bot practice game is a useful introduction to following suit, bidding and bags. If you want individual head-to-head play, read the separate Spades Duel rules; its drawing phase changes how a hand develops.
